Location: UK Wide (Initial focus on Sellafield project)

This role places you at the forefront of the Hydrogen Allocation Round 2 (HAR2), which aims to support up to 875MW of new low-carbon hydrogen production, crucial for the UK's goal of 1GW of electrolytic hydrogen capacity by 2025. You will drive innovation and efficiency in a vital sector that supports industrial decarbonisation and regional growth.

 

🎯 Key Focus & Deliverables

The successful candidate will lead the strategic planning and operational delivery of high-profile, multi-million-pound Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) schemes within the low-carbon energy sector. The first secured project is a significant energy infrastructure scheme at the Sellafield site.

Core Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership: Oversee multiple, concurrent energy and hydrogen infrastructure projects across the UK, acting as the lead Senior Project Manager / Operations Manager.

  • Project Execution: Own the full project lifecycle from early planning and pre-construction through to execution, commissioning, and final handover, ensuring delivery within agreed parameters.

  • M&E Expertise: Provide high-level technical direction and leadership for complex M&E installation packages, leveraging a background in large-scale construction environments (e.g., nuclear, heavy industrial, or complex infrastructure).

  • Financial & Commercial Management: Ensure robust commercial governance, including budget control, resource forecasting, and risk management across the project portfolio.

  • Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for the client and key delivery partners, fostering collaborative relationships to ensure project milestones are consistently met.

  • Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop site-based project teams and managers, promoting a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence.

 

👤 Essential Requirements

  • Experience: Proven track record (8+ years preferred) of successfully managing and delivering large-scale, complex M&E projects as a Senior Project Manager or Operations Manager.

  • Sector Knowledge: Extensive experience in Energy, Power, Nuclear, or heavy Industrial sectors, with a strong understanding of critical infrastructure delivery and associated safety protocols. Experience in hydrogen or low-carbon technology is highly advantageous.

  • Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated ability to manage multi-million-pound budgets, drive commercial performance, and oversee contract management.

  • Leadership: Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate diverse project teams and subcontractors across various sites.

  • Compliance: Deep commitment to and experience in managing HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) on highly regulated sites.
