We are searching for a Senior Project Manager (Mechanical) to lead the front-end tender and bid management for several major, high-value projects within Central London. This is a critical, client-facing role for an individual who is hungry for progression and ready to secure the next generation of landmark schemes for the business.
The Role: Strategic Bid Leadership & Work Winning
This is a pivotal, senior pre-construction appointment requiring exceptional mechanical expertise, commercial strategy, and leadership.
- Core Objective: You will assume full responsibility for leading the mechanical elements of the company's most strategic tenders and bids across Central London, driving the work-winning process from initial engagement through to successful submission and handover to the delivery team.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Tender & Bid Leadership: Manage the entire mechanical tender process, including developing robust technical submissions, challenging designs, and formulating competitive cost strategies alongside the Commercial team.
- Design & Pre-Construction: Oversee the mechanical design development and value engineering proposals during the bid stage to optimize project delivery and profitability.
- Impact: This role is directly responsible for securing the future pipeline of major M&E projects, requiring a leader capable of driving excellence and innovation in the work-winning arena.
Candidate Requirements
We are seeking a highly experienced, commercially astute, and client-focused Mechanical Project Manager or Pre-Construction Lead:
- Experience: Extensive experience leading the mechanical technical input on major M&E tenders and bids (£50M+ project values preferred), ideally within the Central London commercial or critical systems market.
- Expertise: Strong technical knowledge of mechanical building services design and installation processes, coupled with a deep understanding of commercial drivers and risk mitigation during the tender process.
- Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services (HND/HNC/Degree).
