We are searching for a talented Mechanical Engineer to provide crucial technical support and quality assurance on major Healthcare projects across the region. This is an excellent entry point for an engineer who is hungry for progression and ready to manage the technical integrity of complex, sensitive systems.
The Role: Technical Support & Site Assurance
This is a pivotal, site-based technical role focused on quality control and engineering support. The Mechanical Engineer will report directly to the Senior Project Manager or Senior Mechanical Engineer.

Core Objective: Support the site team by ensuring the technical integrity, compliance, and quality of mechanical system installations on complex Healthcare projects in the Yorkshire region.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Compliance: Assist in checking that mechanical system installations (HVAC, Public Health, Medical Gases, etc.) strictly adhere to design specifications, client requirements, and industry standards (e.g., HTM/HBN).

Site QA/QC: Perform regular site inspections and quality checks, assist the Senior Engineer with snagging, testing, and witnessing commissioning activities.

Engineering Support: Serve as the technical point of contact for subcontractors, helping to resolve minor technical queries (TQs) and ensuring correct installation practices are followed on-site.

Documentation: Manage technical documentation, as-built drawings, test sheets, and O&M manual compilation required for the final handover, particularly complex healthcare records.

Candidate Requirements
We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and technically capable Mechanical Engineer:

Experience: Proven site-based experience as a Mechanical Engineer or Assistant Project Engineer, ideally working on Healthcare projects (Hospitals, Laboratories) or other technically demanding sectors for an M&E contractor.

Expertise: Strong foundational knowledge of mechanical building services systems (HVAC, pipework, public health) and an understanding of site QA/QC procedures and coordination challenges in a live environment.

Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services (HND/HNC/Degree).
